Notes

Boraq 2 is derived from Boraq 1 in response to two issues:

-The formula weight of Boraq 1 was too high. This alerted us that the chemistry was more significantly different from Gerstley Borate than the unity formula suggested. We added 8 dolomite and 8 whiting to match up the percentage analysis numbers much better than they had been.

-Boraq 1 was not working well with iron reds. After making the above changes it became evident that this was because of either the lack of CaO or the lack of limestone-like minerals that occur in Gerstley Borate.

This material has a much lower formula weight (although it is still higher than GB which likely contained more clay and tramp minerals than Boraq).
