Melting Point (MP) - MLPT

Notes

The temperature at which a solid ceramic begins to flow. This is sometimes difficult to assess since many materials soften over a range of temperatures (e.g. glasses, frit) and therefore do not have a specific melting temperature, while others melt suddenly (e.g. crystalline materials). For these materials it is often better to assign values for a Melting Range test.
