A low cost ceramic sericite material useful to reduce firing temperature (it has good bonding properties because of its low PCE), control shrinkage, reduce absorption. Fires to a pink color. The material is prepared by mining and crushing.
Different grades vary primarily by iron content (and fire more pink and then more orange as it increases up to 6%), the analysis shown here is representative.
