If the kiln is full, do the first step overnight, 10 hours or more (electric kilns have poor ventilation, this step is needed to drive out all residual or remaining water from body and glaze.

Include step 4 and 5 if you are firing matte glazes (that need to crystalize) or reactive glazes that need to variegate (form multiple phases) and crystalize.

This firing assumes that a good bisque has been done.
